Hi, I am ME! Who's me... I am called Franz by many and other things by others. But that is not who I am, who we are is not the worldly lables we place on everything. We can describe things "about" us, but those are NOT us. I am me. :-)
Some labels: I am a dad. My son has changed me in the most profound ways and I live each day excited to see what my son will do next and what he will teach me. I live like he does; as much as I can. I like to be amazed at things, to see things like they are new and fantastic. Children live in the moment so much more than "adults" do. I am finding my way back to that space.
I am a musician. Playing and writing music is one of the few things in my life that has stayed with me. I love to create and jam on my guitar; it brings me to a special place.
I am an explorer and seeker. I strive to be the best person that I can be; treating others as I would have them treat me. I strive to be conscious of my thoughts, actions and reactions. To be aware of myself and others by being present.

About me... I like stuff. But I am not attached to my stuff. Stuff is fleeting and inconsequential. I have found a balance between enjoying the "things" in life and really enjoying life - the things that are intangeble - laughter, play, family, friends, love... I love to explore possibility. Us, human beings are so capable of wondrous things, yet we are terrified of our own power; of the fact that we are truly the creators of our own reality. It seems much easier to put our life and experiences onto other, or situations, or circumstances or events. But we truly create our own lives. As some very wise people told me a long time ago; and it took... um... a whole bunch of years to "get it", "Life is a series of attitudes". Think about it. Or not, it is ok :-)

I love creating music. When I am playing and writing, I am truly in the moment and all else disappears - I strive to be in that state all of the time, for all we have is the moment. This one right now... Enjoy, cherish and pay attention to it.

I am here to share my music with the world. But ultimately, I do it for myself. I truly enjoy my music. My hope is that it will have a positive impact on someone, sometime.

I listen to just about every kind of music - it all depends on my mood. Lately I have been listening to a lot of classical music. I really love Vivaldi right now. Classical guitar as well. I am amazed at the people that play classical guitar well. I also have been listening to a lot of electronic music; trance, ambient and such. I love Delerium, Sasha, Bodhi, Thievery Corporation and the like. I have a bunch of music that is soft like that I hope to finish some day.

Writing poetry is a wondrous way to share and express oneself. It's something that, like music, allows me to share my feelings and thoughts. I have lots of poems here on this site and other places around the web as well - just google "Franz Hoff" and you will find me!
